Tearing Transgressor (A poem on KAMALA DAS)
Who has found fortitude?
A liar who thinks that he’ll ne’er be caught?
A truth teller who reveals peccadilloes and returns to fight?
I vote for the latter.
With inhibitions, information isolated,
With conventions, the contrary conceived,
But with confessions, introduction believed.
Spot-seekers scolded- ‘no scruples,’
Accused of being immodest,
Often, blamed her for being shameless,
But audience bears her bare words that protest.
For, she strip teased her mind, hid nothing- nothing to redress
How worst the world of men works, wise ones wondered.
She crossed control and corroded community, crooks crowed.
She tried to recover it through lust but was pulled down to dust.
Restriction and restraints raided her release and planned to bust,
She discovered divine discharge of her mind by living with her pen.
For others like her, she designed it by leaving the imprints of her pen.
Prevail to present her wavering mind,
Omission of caps and varying length of lines.
Her marred poems are marks of marred marriage.
Callousness, mechanical act and void of love- to manage,
She tries to erase through reckless handling of punctuation marks.
Her love-dry emotions are well expressed through colloquial remarks.
At times, all this violation and infringement makes others research her poems and find.
Crushed by connections,
She became a hater of accepted norms.
You do it to anyone, and then they’ll turn out to be the rarest ones.
Never loved, ever used and on no account bothered by her bridegrooms.
Privacy is not her real policy
All she yearned was fantasy.
When that was denied, she drowned that fake policy
And she protested against the iniquitous world by the hand-over of her ecstasy.
Is envy burning them- they can’t assert?
Do lively lives lure them and urge them to keep a look out for desert?
Or is it liability towards the public that prevents them from letting her go her own way?
Why others worry about her proclamation, ‘endless female hunger’ and keep her at bay?
If so, set out on a trip to ‘her precious feelings’ for elucidation.
Her feminine sensibility hails maternity and motherhood.
Let whole manhood pervert,
But perspire womanhood,
To persuade- that perturbed woman pertains to literature- particularly Indian.
Elixir of life
Poems born from wild world of imagination
Whisper wide world of wisdom
And vivid images whirl wisely.
When love wields power,
It weeds out wilderness.
Usually meet metaphor and measured meter
Ride on rhyme and reverberate rhythm
Soothe the sliced soul with similes.
If composed in verse,
Quite a beauty.
Poems probably preach philosophy of poets
Principles of persons proudly presented
Perhaps proclaim perfect passion
Patterned by pure patience
Pleasing persuasion.
Plenty bloom poems
And shower us with pleasure.
Forceful tether is this treasure.
When added to our life, this manure,
Raise rank rapidly like a morale booster.
Throe
Patience purrs like pusillanimous puss
Tring tring brings me to the telephone
Wing – wing shrinks at once hearing the tone
Distance cannot diminish the fuss
Each tick speeds my throb. Call me mad
The call comes late
Got a date to celebrate
Lad – soon to call me dad.
Before and after those months
Rocks me- upside down
With him inside me.
Hunts me down, knowing not his own
With his animalistic body.
Hot hoarse cry and sigh
Makes me dry and wry.
Hagridden- every night and lie
Hapless am I, holding you.
Honey! Where are you?
Foreign is his torture
Forego nurture-though-not my nature.
Wakes me- with nameless demand
Worthless becomes any reprimand.
His drollery makes him quite a doll
And in no way could I drill.
Snoozes sumptuously the comely sleeper
Cuddling closely, he’s warmer.
So am I, his mother!
Listen Love
Little think thou of my nights lonesome
Sleeky snakes slither around while thou art away.
Let not cankers breed in my bleak bosom
Playing pranks till they afford to prey.
Listen to preserve your thorny blossom
Weary wack dost wane and wither wantonly.
Lest my life should turn awry and be awesome
Hazardous hayrick hearkens the headstrong heart- burns hopelessly.
Lying to my limpid love-tree brought Lucifer
Yet longing lopped off the looming locust from me.
Liable am I, if I act not like a lever
And erect the love- tree to unite me and ye.
Loudly do I lament foreboding the future and end
Frosty friend thou art my fiend.
Foolhardy ain’t I to accept your word
Perceiveth not thou what ye uttereth.
Discloseth thou may before the crowd
In reality, not at all distaineth.
Till the day removeth thou thy tulle
Determined am I to dote on ye.
To cure my cold, a dose of thine profile
From embryo emerged an elixir ethereal for me.
Repress hallowed love to rend thy love mate
Beg I still for Solomon’s Sophia to surmount
Thereby rummage your heart at any rate
Then could I attaineth success paramount.
Rapture thou obtaineth after raillery and taunt
Fails to rupture me but thine image haunt.
Limit neither your love nor your luminous look
Or else lynch and lull me into lunacy.
Label as thine with hisses rare that rake and kisses bare that shake.
For longevity not by longing procured but by leniency.
Lean not on lethal leave but to grow lean
Your loss, seconds lost, each a lash to thine lass.
Languishment when lanced by languor in vain
My lavish love leaps and licks me as lavas.
Lost am I in the lore of love like some cove
Locate a lofty place for me to lodge.
Last will I in the lock of love like any dove
If thou wilt lapidate the lapse and take lusty lush in large.
List not my loathsome links instead linger
As lotions, loves all lesions cure.
Honours high to covet oft claimed legal
Even combustible eyes and curt replies kindled the craving.
To coquet and hoax cited always lethal
Distance thyself from such flirt charming.
Do I investigate an ideal mind to identify
Or in you imagine immoderate civility?
A few freckles cannot dazzle my eyes but mortify
Frailties thine: thou art mine celebrity.
Lour thou and this love I, thine lover.
Low love and this Love, cannot I let go
Thy levities and lees have I not in my ledger
Yet never spare I, your warmth to borrow
Whence wilt thou conceive my clamour for attention
And love I thee with such passion?
Me turn loony, if accept not the restoration
For silence transmigrates into gold whence observest thy brow.
Whilst bliss in view, beaten is ululation
And travels together with the earthy sorrow.
Cussed he be, in a tearing hurry declared
Frailty thy name is woman.
Smirched his doctrine when verily discovered
One who abets her frailty is man.
Yet her statures by him smoothly steered
So, our love in abeyance readily I activate.
Our love in love, by us rapturously steered
When comply I not to let it complicate.
Stamp me thine with thy spirit firmly
Seal ye mine with my soul fondly.
Ms. Reflectoress’ Reflections
Every early morn –you grin gorgeously
Facing me. Look ready to swallow greedily.
Soap and scrub yourself shamelessly.
I suspect- Cupid’s arrow hit you in a row
Allow me to reflect without any row.
Beg you to band me not with your brow.
Adorned or afflicted appear ye ardently for approbation.
Willingly wink while you wink
Suddenly sink while you sink
Willfully weep while you weep
Worryingly wipe while you wipe.
Instantly I become you
Yet I am not you.
At times you glower to suit your mood-
Blissfully Blessed without parts.
Your rehearsals and bark
I forgive to see your lark.
You mould me. Since then it’s I who mould.
Care not for thy ambiguous ambition
All that matters is an appropriate appreciation.
My glaze depends on your caress.
Charge me to trace your changes
Nevertheless, I daren’t charge.
Your cheerless cast may break me into two or without any clue
To obey my scruple, shall be ever true
Not so many who live like you love!
Yet, venture not to reciprocate your love.
Whenever you pass me, I
Discover the fragrance of love that grip:
You tilt your head delightfully
To query about thine beauty, doubtfully.
My whole being slips without a flip
Yet decline your cosiness for I
Can see the delicacies you dine
But really cannot dine.
To embrace me privily- not your doom.
Am accursed to be forever barren- no room.
Your love will never be explicit
Do not hold dear an affair illicit.
Ye could name me, liar
But leave me where I were.
Your adoration found: replicas of mine surround
All my family around
Cousins of mine abound.
Floral vases, chandeliers, ornamental pieces
Goggles, glossy lights, glass panes
And glass-wares grant much grace to your places.
Let me for a while stay quiet
While you hold her tight…
Until she fails her uxorial duties
I’ll usurp not her place.
Find me a lonesome place
Where I could find some solace.
And there I’ll wail over you
Wildly wrestling to fore-go you.
Nonpareil
Many times slighted lovely love but to me mattered
Manifest her munificence, mysterious Muse.
Damn love –thousands of tongues hast muttered
Sweetest to those who perused and in use.
Swelled syringe that soothes sore malady.
Hires harmless hunger- holding icy fire hails heroism
Yet scorpion that stingeth if ye are tardy.
When thy name dragged through the mire
Love lifts thee to lie, yet liar ye not.
Craves to cry but thou remain in cheery pyre
Who would laud not such love- knot
And deprive this duchess so dear?
Like rhymes my heart locked with love chimes
Then why dost some liken it to crimes?
Verify- one feeleth cold when one’s old
Motley sash or mourning shield one and the same.
Verily I feeleth old when he’s cold.
Monsieur is rash, likely to quash out of qualm.
Natheless humourous and humane my honey-dew
Videlicet giveth me one, returneth he twain.
And duly clears each and every due.
How wittingly he doubleth wonder I in vain
To compete granted only four but added he more.
Rover, those beaks that rustle while making pact
Pleasure in replication and duplication exudes from the core.
Tugs tenderly my heart with his tactual tact
Promptly perceives how to quench and quiet
The piquant cause why I never could quit.
Which country confirmeth not one high truth
Love revoking one’s youth oft reversible?
Now, why not a befitting tongue to mouth
That the same raises thy nature risible?
When in love, elation the recruit of thy rites,
From rotter transform ye to a robust ruler,
Gaiety and jollity joyfully join as thy legal rights,
Gay glee then thy measuring meter.
My man taught me this, a mum miser
Consider’d not money yet minimiz’d even minute merry.
Into a new leaf turn’d and now wiser
Smiles, sniggers, laughs and guffaws sans worry.
Blossoms of bliss blizzards canst stop whither love blooms
Blemishes or blots beings canst spot whither love booms.
One step ahead than any man handsome
Impels the curve of brows never to wink
One glance, any rapacious swindler revises the ransom
Allure roseate lips, there allow myself to sink,
Between the gleams slip, the sheen to sip,
there from smacked ecstasy.
When with Asthenopia, replenished eyes sable, mine magical salve.
Finely He chiseled his nose like rose to stun with jealousy.
Features finest fitted by one into one! Let the Tailor solve.
Neither ransack nor renounce to raise rapture
Access to all levels of happiness in him I find.
Nay, nought left out or anew to capture
Bequeaths everything, bereaves nothing as by his kind.
Conceived the content after careful rumination
Travail contents. He’s born twice as such reincarnation.
A raw deal, if loveth and kisseth not.
A relentless doer, if leans nigh yet leaves to sigh.
A repulsive deed, if kisseth and loveth not.
My love ripping ripe ripped to rinse the shells shy.
O, green-eyed enviest not rejoicing resorted by refreshing rain
Can blasphemy bless thee with the same?
Silly signals ye send, not his love drain
Why thou yearnest in earnest for shame?
Me too brook no such rivalry
Not spare or spar but slap and snap.
Poverty bends thee low? Parry penalty and be his secretary
Craving detected// cringe wilt thou, when I crump to cramp
More oft, welcome acts mazy
Lovers, thou art weird and crazy.
8. Part- My Pleasure?
Parted lips proceeded; never
Parting the parts.
Adorable sport of life
Achieved not prior to strife.
Passing cloud- pas-time- he, he, and he -say.
Precarious passion- profanation-she, she and she-say.
Part and parcel presently proved,
Priceless and precious purgation- I say.
Pluck our physique apart
Only to depart.
Plume us - phoenix- better
Only to flutter.
Discovery of Destiny
My life’s glamour
Reduced to glimmer.
My steady snigger
Sliced by a sinner
In the pot of Matrimony simmer.
Weird- Beloved turned into Bitch
When three tiny tots took my teats.
They sucked only my milk
He nibbles my nipples
And sucks my silk
And sticks while I sulk.
My roses ruddy
Does not stop his ribaldry.
Nine and twenty nights
He does nip
With his hip.
Driver: dives with his merciless member.
I plead while I bleed
I bleed while I plead.
Asserts his matrimonial right:
I am all MAN
Into one rolled
With regal roughness
To manifest our MANHOOD.
Why not demolish his desire to giggle?
I ain’t a giglet to giggle.
Wish- God created a place
Where I’ll not perish
By this Man’s manacle.
Wait not for the miracle.
Never was he fit for me
Ever is he a fit to me.
I rock the lock…
Shall I lock the ROCK
To reach my father’s HOME,
My former HOME?
I lock the ROCK.
My tear- stricken eyes-
Will it not tear out my mama’s soul?
Who daily melt her marrow?
To meet not sorrow.
My fear- laden size-
Will it not shear the dear life out of papa
Who bestowed a heap of bribe
To beseem me a happy bride.
Am I not my father’s pride?
I am never to slide.
I rock the lock…
Unlock the ROCK
Only to let myself in.
Outcasts- Are They Shit?
Shift the shit
It’s what they do.
Shit – In shifts…
They submit to cleanse your street.
Sell them – this deed
Sure- consent not any creed.
Shrine you go
Pearl for you.
Strict order not to go
Shell for them?
Oyster – restricted. Well,
Outcasts are they!
Rinse their body, the higher class.
Their contact contaminates.
This touch – of course, is accidental.
Ever wonder, the cause, instrumental?
Why worry about the purgation of body?
But bother not about the purgation of mind?
Crinkle your nose, seeing thy shit.
Cringe should they to shift?
To enjoy your siesta, he must sift,
Still exists among children of God such a rift.
Clever and cunning is your plan.
Can you ever become a man?
Slice his sigh with his own shyness
Yet, sick are you – if sever not your sheer selfishness.
Sea, seeds and phoenix die
To let another live.
Why only the inhuman human strives
To kill other human and kill humanity?
Bitter Truth
Standing betwixt you and me –sinister death
Slapping- to face the reality of death
Your feet burned numb
My meet turned dumb
One step forward- Let him try…
Once you die, I die
Trapped by feminine charm
Treads one step backward
Only few seconds from causing harm.
When his cackling laughter
Edged closer and closer…
I die and… will you die?
I ask naively-without any cry.
God knows you will never even try!
Joblessness
Piercing rain of pain unexplainable
Bubbling tears of grief irreparable
Hunting for job each time restoring faith in fate
Every time it’s too late
No date puts an end card to the search.
“Put an end to the ‘job’ and focus on research.”
Search for research- would resolve- my dad thought.
Eligible guide was not found near
Not a thing to be bought at a price dear.
No more than this could I bear
I ain’t a bear to feed mainly on honey
But badly do I need money.
To take my mom to a good hospital
And bid farewell to her nameless disease.
Admit my elderly sis in a loony bin.
I am 36- still not an owner of a bike
Now I prefer a ride to a hike
Let me possess at least one now.
My dreams are not sky high
God, let me not dry before I die!
Should I pray before the outburst?
When will I quench my thirst?
And leave this rotten life of poverty filled with stench.
Separation
Distance could be set on fire
if you and I together desire to be together.
Gather thy things and reach thy motherland.
Baby, beyond deep blue seas you are
Blindly building money for your beloved
Blindfolded am I with thoughts amaranthine
Fate will not change until fast you change.
Estimate your success not by the count of currency
Not by living in the West without rest
But by being with your soulmate.
It’s simply not worth the tears I shed on your separation.
A quick pizza there you grab for your breakfast breaks my heart.
Hot idlis cooked here with 3 chutneys and sambhar
sure enough to melt you when served with conjugal love.
You are always so discreet
You keep your sniffles a top secret.
You have a lot of nerve leaving me here.
“This is a trying time for us”, you thought.
Nay, but a lifedraining lesson.
Listen, come home to your better half
Let’s leave the bitter half
And raise our children and fortune together.
